As the Sun Goes Down framed print

greeting card

After 6 years of severe drought, the Lake had all but dried out, but a huge downpour a few weeks ago (170mls in just over 24 hours, plus more over the weekend) filled it up again. (April, 2010). So, again, we can get some sunset shots with water in them! Nikon D300, 70-300. 1/400, F10, ISO 200. At first I thought it was a streak on the lens, the white streak is actually a plane going across.

About bazcelt

An amateur, but a long love of photography. A recent move to digital has seen the love ‘blossom’, and a greater enjoyment in the field. I will try most forms of photography, and gain both knowledge and fun out of the experimentation. Using a Nikon D300 and D7000, with a range of lenses, and filters. I hope you enjoy the views as much as I’ve enjoyed taking them.

    Just beautiful Barry

  • Thanks Suellen. Yes, was a great evening, but didn’t last long, so most of the attempts were a bit blurred with trying to get it right in a hurry! This one was the best.

I thought it was a wispy cloud :-) Love the rays of light – a very warming image!

  • Yes, that was my other suggestion as I looked at it in the screen, but as I looked up again you could see the plane – this was the very tail end of the vapour trail, and had just caught the bright light at that altitude, and not as yet the sunset colours.
