Stockton Marina, Newcastle, NSW, Australia. Derelict boat well past use by date. Nikon D800E, f11/ 1/6sec, ISO100, 52mm. An excursion with Mick. This is a small area on the Stockton Hunter River side where the fishing boats are tied up. An amazing collection, all jammed in together, and these ones on the outer river side only reached by two planks side by side, tied down with pieces of rope, across the rocky breakwater wall. A very hazardous journey!

An amateur, but a long love of photography. A recent move to digital has seen the love ‘blossom’, and a greater enjoyment in the field. I will try most forms of photography, and gain both knowledge and fun out of the experimentation. Using a Nikon D300 and D7000, with a range of lenses, and filters. I hope you enjoy the views as much as I’ve enjoyed taking them.

What a shame , it looks so sad :((( ..- Nice find Baz xx

  • Yes, certainly just left to rot at its moorings. Thanks heaps, for the fave too friend xx. Was very hard to get a shot though – had to walk along these very insecure planks across a rocky breakwater, and the boats were all crowded in together so getting an angle was fun!

    Superbly captured great find Baz.

  • Thanks heaps Julie, fave too much appreciated. It’s quite a good location, just crowded with boats, and the walkway is a little scary – lol!

  • Thanks so much, greatly appreciated, and a nice ‘tribute’ to what was at one time obviously a nice boat, now left to decay – a sad end.
