The World As We See It , or as we missed it … February 2012
ABOUT THIS IMAGE
One of the main attractions of the little village of Tournon-sur-Rhône in the Rhône Valley, France, is the feudal castle built
into solid rock, overlooking the town and the river. Tournon Castle is a listed building under the Historic Monuments.
The castle, whose foundations date back to the 10th Century, also has a section built during the Renaissance that houses
the town museum. A room in the museum is devoted to Marc Seguin, a local engineer who built the first suspension bridge
across the Rhône, which was completed in 1825, linking the twin cities of Tournon-sur-Rhône and Tain L’Hermitage.
