“Vincent’s Garden” located within the walls of the Hôtel-Dieu in Arles, where Vincent Van Gogh was hospitalized in 1888 under the care of Dr. Felix Rey, after slicing off part of his ear.
The garden is now a kind of shrine to his memory, reconstructed exactly as it figured in his work
    “Le Jardin de l’Hôtel-Dieu”.

Vincent certainly was hospitalised in beautiful surroundings and produced many wonderful works while in Arles, but he was not in the best of health either physically or mentally.

Lovely garden, looks like there is a path for every direction. Nice architecture

  • Byron, thank you !
If I remember correctly, there are 8 paths leading to the central fountain.
Gardens and buildings are all well maintained … a good source of tourist income.
