The Vincent House, photographed on a grey day in Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
is the oldest unaltered house in the area.

It was built in 1672 and occupied by descendants of the Vincent family for 250 years. It was moved from it’s original location and faithfully reconstructed at it’s more central location in 1977.

It is no longer a family home, but serves as an Historical Museum, depicting highlights of over 300 years of Island life.

  • Thank you Byron!
Different house, different location, same construction period (late 1600’s), similar weather :)

Wow – amazing to have a house that old that has survived. Nice one Trish.

  • Thanks Michael!
I guess being lived in by descendants of the family for some 250 years then being used as an Historical Museum has ensured it’s survival.
