[ Two Robber Flies on the lawn under my clothes line (I nearly trod on them) doing what comes naturally! ]
Having been stimulated to do a little research by Lance’s comment, I see that my original thoughts were incorrect, the mating positions of Robber Flies is quite different and this is in fact one Robber Fly with his meal! Thank you Lance!
I have left my original words other than the title, as otherwise many of the comments and responses would not be relevant!
Photographed at my home, Batemans Bay, on the south coast of New South Wales, Australia.
Awesome detailed capture Trish, a definite new bug for me…inst fave !!!
Larry, thank you so much for your awesome comments and for adding this to your faves! I saw one of these for the first time only a year or so ago.
