… this morning my portfolio topped 100,000 views, a milestone I have seen many others reach and continue on to higher figures, a milestone I never dreamed I would ever reach !
Yes … I am totally thrilled to have achieved the figure of 100,006 just after 0800 local time. I have 405 current works with variable numbers of views … the numbers average out to just over 270 per work.
Now the decision … I am undecided about removing less well received work and maintain a manageable portfolio ……
My heartfelt thanks to all my friends who have supported my work with comments, favourites and suggestions for improvement during the past couple of years, also to many group hosts for choosing to feature some of my images, without you I would not have reached this milestone !

Wonderful Trish! For what it’s worth, I recently removed some less popular works and felt better for it, as I think that my portfolio is stronger now. In fact I’m thinking of doing it again. Anyway, for a single portfolio to top 100,000 views is simply amazing, so my heartfelt congratulations and a twinge of jealousy :)

Onya, Trish,i have no idea how many visits iv’e had,good on you,at least you can gauge the popularity of your recent works with earlier ones,which is helpful,in any case it is of no use to me as i have replaced the images in my gallery so many times it’s not funny,but i thoroughly recommend being savage on your culling,as you can always re/upload them in the future if you want,anyway congrats,Trish!

Oh,i forgot to mention,Trish,if i get less than say ten comments on an image and it’s be up a couple of days,i just get rid of it and replace it with an image that might have more universal appeal,cheers!!

Congratulations Trish, a wonderful milestone.
I faced the same decision after 3 years of adding images – I wiped out virtually all of my portfolio, kept only a few favourites, and am now busily filling it up again. I did my deletions in two sessions, less than 100 for the older ones and 50 for the newer ones and then a hard cut. Lance, above must get a lot of people looking as I think 10 views in a couple of days is being over hopeful, certainly for me it would be. I have since the major cut, re-instated a couple.

As for deleting the less popular works … I have done that myself but now with galleries it doesn’t seem so important to do that.
A couple of weeks ago I sold a photo that I almost deleted. Often the less popular ones sell !

Congratulations on your milestone, Trish!!! Don’t rush into culling out earlier, ‘less popular’ images yet, as you never know, someone out there might just purchase. I had that happen just the other day on an image that was uploaded about three years ago.

I had thought I would halve my works, but I am beginning to lean towards a small cull of images uploaded for specific challenges … that would not have been uploaded otherwise.

Yaaaaay way to go Trish, I’m not far off either and it will be an exciting day. I agree with Phil about the culling, it’s strange but some of the works that sells isn’t the work you think would sell if that makes sense and you wouldn’t want to miss an opportunity :-)))) With the system set out as it is now with the selected folios that people can view I don’t think it’s so much about culling work anymore BUT if you are anything like me I keep forgettng to add new works into the folios lol. Cheers to the next 100,000 views :-)))
