The Divided Sky

The Divided Sky

Trudging through the abusive abyss
The ground entangles me
Entwined: interwoven my mind
Try to escape this cemented confrontation.

Forced considerations of previous times
Lifestyle choices, decisions were mine
To take a look deep inside, only to find
The inner master rides behind.

Inspecting the surroundings, disregard the landing
Parted red sea, spilt in two the sky’s divided
I look in the crystal ball nothing to loose
View the possibilities: which life to lead.

The left side: lit by the moon
Shaped like a pill I could digest soon
Dance on fluffy clouds, experience the sound
Utopia: under a strobe lit sun.

The right side: a counterpart of dark
Clear as crystal, productive tissue
Reeking of success, first place contest
The precise path, but not cool enough.

Flying high, I’m superman the Dodo
Veering left for one more go go
Once inside this place, I’m subsided, divided
No gravity, floating, until the loathing.

Once assumed friends morph into trends
The moon gives off a disconcerting stare,
Resembling grandpa in his rocking chair
Stumbling, plunging, tumbling and crumbling.

Peeling crusted eyes, feels like day one
Look out to the sky’s relentless sun
Eleven hours sleep, why count sheep?
Somehow enlightened, but ever so frightened.
