Artist's Description

Title: SG2000

The electric guitar is a symbol of rebellion, power, and grace under fire. In it’s brief history it’s made more waves in the musical community then many long-time instruments could ever hope to stir up. I mean, could you imagine Jimmy Paige swaggering across the stage with a bassoon? Or Chuck Berry duck-walking with a clarinet?

…so… long live this cornerstone of rock music, and it’s countless devotees.

This particular piece was my very first commission. The guitar is a Yamaha SG2000 that a fan in Oregon owns. The gentlemen liked the style of my Crazy Notes pictures and wanted his guitar to be the next instrument in the series. He sent me pictures of his axe and I just thought, WOW what a great looking guitar – the cherry-burst finish is killer and the binding, and the headstock….
