Lovely treatment Barry, it’s like looking back in time! Is that Quorn in Leicstershire? I went to school there
Hi Tainia, yes the very same, though now the kennels are near Kirby Bellars, Melton Mowbray. Did you go to school in Loughborough? I had a shop there in the 70’s. Thanks for the nice comment.

Beautiful shot – excellent – well done
Thanks nehbol, but it wasn’t a shot, it is a painting done from many photos.
Hello Barry, I was at Limehurst Girls High, then Later Rawlins comm college. Where was your shop, what did you sell? I bet I have been in there, what a small world! Tai
I have a friend who is school sec. at Rawlins. I had a chemist’s shop in Ward’s End, ‘Upstairs & Downstairs’ with cosmetics upstairs.
Lovely painting and composition. I like the way you have skillfully painted the background and less important details so that they “recede” and therefore further enhance the the important subjects-ie dogs, handlers, audience. Maybe a subtitle could be “The Power of a Puppy Treat”.
A good second title! and thanks for the kind comments
Hi Barry, my name is Daniel cherriman, i am 1st whipper-in for the quorn hunt , and am showing the hounds in this painting you have, so beautifully done, because the huntsman had a broken leg. Were you present at the puppy show yourself? Is it possible to purchase a copy of this picture? I didn’t know it existed untill someone posted me a link to this site.
Hi Daniel. Yes I was there and took a load of photos on which the painting is based. I did two more of the puppy show (and you!). They are also on this site and my own site barrythomasportraits.co.uk. I live in Skeffington. You can of course purchase fom this site, but I would like to have a chat with you first.
