Narrowboat on Shelmore embankment Norbury by

A narrowboat coming into the Norbury junction . The embankment was built by Thomas Telford as a detour to avoid a landowner’s pheasant shoot. It cost a lot of lives.I like the colour and peace of this.

Thanks Paul. I like the way narrowboat owners often have a little flower garden on the top of the boat.

I love the feel – very calm.

  • Thanks Sinéad, somehow a slowly moving boat always feels calm, whereas a slowly moving car sometimes irritates me to death!
