Shand-Mason horse Drawn Fire Appliance
The design of the boiler is vertcal multi-tubular
(total of 118 threequater inch I.D. copper tubes hand drifted)
Enabling steam to be raised from cold to 60psi in approximately 6 minutes.

The pump is of reciprocating design and can dishcharge 500 imperial gallons
of water at a pressure of 80psi.
The appliance has been in Lancashire from new and is one of very few remaining, that are in full working order, following renovation by the Brigade.
