Voted 4th place in the 2013 CHANL Scientific Art Competition

Entered in the 2013 CHANL Scientific Art Competition with the following description:
While the soaring body positions of these fanciful “eagles” remind us of modern avian species, the fractal coloring and surface textures might suggest their reptilian ancestors (from the late Jurassic period 150 million years ago). This work was created with a fractal software program called Apophysis. Fractal patterns often resemble structures in nature, and an exciting challenge to the fractal art viewer is to attempt to identify familiar plants or animals, similar to “cloud watching”. With skillful and practiced command of the software, the fractal/digital artist can shape and enhance these similarities to approach traditional, representational art.
