Created as a translation in Solo Exhibition Group’s Sojie 14 Workshop of Lana Wynne’s brilliant and inspirational creation “Different”. The composition was largely created using GIMP 2.6, but the repeated elements were created as blended and transformed layers in Ultra Fractal 5.04 from fractal images made in Apophysis and Fractal Science Kit.

Different, for the young, or in a world of intolerance
means insecure, hiding, not good enough…
But in a supportive, enlightened world
in the confidence of age and self-approbation
Different is better than dull mediocrity
Different is ten feet tall, basking in the sun
Full of color, emanating light
Different is a leader, not afraid to be right
or wrong, or just…
Different!!!

Just fabulous David, great design work, a wonderful translation, and I love your poem too. Isn’t it wonderful the diversity of our planet, the people, the countries, the flora and fauna….its amazing..and exciting…..different doesn’t mean ‘wrong’ or ‘bad’ it just means different. If we could all accept each others differences and know that we have the freedom to choose to be who we are, life would be even more joyful. Congrats on your translation!!!
