Gently paddling our canoe through the early morning fog, we could barely see fifty feet, even though the sun was beginning to pierce the mist from above. Slowly revealing itself, first as just a reflected glimmer of sunlight, we began to see a remarkable object partially submerged in the water ahead, but could not recognize it as anything we had ever seen before…

Created in Apophysis 7x v14 following this tutorial in the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group. Rendered as a .png file, then blended with duplicate layers and a white background, color adjusted with added supernova in GIMP v2.6, then saved in .jpg format, and finally scaled up with added Lake transform in UF. Number 9 in a series of images generated with the instructions in the tutorial called Comprehensive Gnarls by dA’s Drummerboy08. Best if viewed larger.

This is superb! I am totally in love with this piece. Perfect shape, gorgeous gradient the sparkle in the center and corner. 2 thumbs up hun!

  • Thank you so much, Jackie, for the fave and the wonderful comments here and on the ATF forum…as you know, I love to find good apos on white backgrounds, and if I can add UF Lake “drowning” (LOL) then you get something pretty special…so glad you, too, escaped the weekend’s tornadoes…Best, D

This is brilliant David. One of your best. A gorgeous blend of fractal and digital art. Congratulations on work well done.

  • Thank you so much for the fave and wonderful comment, Bunny! It is so rewarding to finally have command of some of the artistic tools to be able to intentionally create pleasing images without having to just stumble over them after hundreds of mistakes and false starts :o)))

  • Fave and comment much appreciated, Thea!! I’m very happy that you and many others seem to be enjoying this one so much; precisely why I’ve invested so much time to learn how to use these programs, in hopes of sharing something more beautiful than I could ever create with manual techniques.
