No sooner had I finished the render did my fine feathered friend here fly out the door squawking, leaving a plume of smoke and singed feathers behind him. Apparently, I had the brightness setting too high, and the little fellow just ignited. Fortunately, his rapid escape must have extinguished the flames (Apo pun intended) and he flew back home today apparently none the worse for wear. I hope you will enjoy gazing at him from a distance, but please don’t get too close. He is definitely TOO HOT TO HANDLE and might spontaneously combust at any moment! Firebirds are truly an endangered species!

Created in Apophysis 7x v14 following this tutorial in the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group. Rendered as a .png file, then blended with duplicate layers and a black background, mirrored and color adjusted, all in GIMP v2.6, then saved in .jpg format, finally scaled up in UF. Number 26 in a series of images generated with the instructions in this tutorial called Escher Stained Glass by dA’s SaTaNiA (Damien), using Julia3D in the final transform. Best if viewed larger.
