Misty mountains and multiple mirages merge in this mirrored montage…

Created in Apophysis 7x v14 following this tutorial in the Apophysis Tutorial Fun group. Rendered as a .png file, then blended with duplicate layers and a black background, color adjusted and mirrored in GIMP v2.6, then saved in .jpg format, finally scaled up in UF. Number 18 in a series of images generated with the instructions in this tutorial called Escher Stained Glass by dA’s SaTaNiA (Damien), using sinusoidal and Julia3D in the final transform. Best if viewed larger.

    Amazing piece, David! It looks like it could be on Escher V that Phoxford is always writing about. That must be a really neat place to visit.

  • Thanks, Peggi! I’m not sure quite where this is…I see the neck and body of an acoustic guitar toward the top center, and lots of other shapes here and there in the smoke, but you know what they say:

    I definitely see the guitar neck, but it could be a rampart leading to an unseen building. The elements at the top and sides look like waterfalls cascading down and creating the wonderful central design. Really cool looking!
