Artist's Description

Featured 1/28/11 in Brain Science, Brain Art

Created as an abstract fractal in Fractal Science Kit based on equation NanoGeometry 3 with complex inversion transforms Hacoversh, Sinc, Ztrans4 and Ztrans15 as a Mandelbrot image, isolated on just the fourth dwell, scaled up in UF with slight contrast adjustment in MS Picture Manager. Best if viewed larger.

Have you ever wondered what “17-jewel movement” and other phrases about watchmaking craftsmanship really meant? How do we even know there are lots of tiny jewels inside a Swiss watch? Or even if a Rolex is really genuine? These sorts of questions are the basis of a new school of thought that, for lack of a better term, I choose to call Rolexistentialism. If a watch is lost in the woods where nobody can hear it, does it still keep ticking?
