A Purple Finch near our home in Southeast Missouri. I have taken thousands of images of wild birds but this is the first banded bird I have taken a photo of. I tried to enlarge it enough to try to read the band but no luck.

just beautiful. I wonder why and who banded it. Too bad you couldn’t read the numbers. Maybe it was hurt at one time. I guess I could come up with all kinds of maybes’. lol Great capture.
They band them to see where all they travel, how long they live, and some other reasons. Thank you
