Artist's Description

The wild bird, Nuthatch got its name because it takes a seed or nut and sticks it into a crack in a log or in the bark of a tree and then pecks the shell of the seed or nut to get the meat out. This Nuthatch comes to our feeders at our home here in Southeast Missouri and gets one single sunflower seed then flies to this log and sicks it in the crack in the log, pecks the shell open and eats the seed then flies back for another seed.

Nikon D90 with Nikkor 300mm VR lens on auto focus and max zoom. .
