NOTE: This little bird looks very similar to the Female Purple Finch but the Purple finch does not have the greenish yellow wing feathers. We do not usually see the Pine Siskin in Southeast Missouri as their range is further north..
The Female Purple Finch is not a brilliantly colored as the male but very beautiful in her own way. . These birds forage in trees, shrubs and weeds. They mainly eat seeds, plant parts and some insects. In winter, they often feed in mixed flocks including American Goldfinches. (Source ~ Backyard Bird Identification)

Very beautiful indeed. This is great especially with the beautiful blue background. Love it.
Thank you

when I view it larger it looks like they have some blue tail feathers. I didn’t know that.
I think you might be right, it might be a Pine Siskin but they don’t usually range this far south.

A definite Pine Siskin. This is going to be a terrific winter for northern finches wandering well south of their range. Well done :)
Thank you Bill, I thought so but others didn’t agree with me. (:>)
