Regardless of the name you use for them this cute little animal is probably one of the most gentle of God’s Creatures. At least that is the perception people have of this animal since the behaviors they exhibit during breading are rarely seen. They become quite aggressive during breeding and have been known to fight to the death.
They think, like this one, that if they do not move predictors can not see them. If they are in any kind of cover they are right. Their coloring and ability to remain entirely immobile makes the very hard to see. They are also one of the easiet animals to photograph because of their idea that if they do not move they can not be seen.
When a predator (hawk and fox being two of the main ones) goes after them they are very fast and run in such an erratic pattern that they are very hard to catch. However they are still one of the main menu items for most wild predators.
