There are many species of the Thrush family and many of them are very similar in appearance so I am not totally positive that this one is a brown thrush but I believe it is the correct identification. This image was taken on the Caribbean Island of St. Croix when we spent a month there in 2009.

The Caribbean islands are often struck by hurricanes and one phenomenon that has been verified by locals who have survived major hurricanes on the island will tell you that nearly all of the birds on the island leave or are blown away during the storms and it takes several years for the bird populations to return to normal after such a storm.
