The Old St. Charles Missouri Depot by

M-K-T Katy Railroad station was built in 1880 in St. Charles, MO. The last passenger train stopped here in 1958. It was later restored and relocated across the street at the end of the Katy hiking/biking Trail in Frontier Park in 1978.

St. Charles is the first town on the west side of the Missouri River west of St. Louis. The area along the river is now a park with paved walk ways and statues commemorating the old days when St. Charles was a thriving river town. The old down town section is filled with the old brick building that have become trendy shops, art galleries and eateries. It is a popular location for those who are out for the day with family and friends looking for something different and unique.

There is a depot in Burlington, NC that looks so much like this one!! they have restored it, and they use it for concerts….. looks like a great place, even tho i haven’t been there… just driving by…. but they have planted trees on the side opposite the tracks, and you can’t see it as good as you can see this one!!! This is really a fabulous shot!!! love the sky!! excellent in black and white!

  • Thank you Sis, I was not sure about the B&W but thought I would give it a try.
