This amazing fountain is in the entrance lobby of the Ameristar Casino in St. Charles Missouri. It is a twenty foot round fountain pool with shooting streams of water coming from four sides. These streams are about 3/4 inches in diameter (sort of like water shooting out of a hose but more controlled) and they form moving arches with colored lights in them. There are two streams on each side for a total of eight streams. The streams start out small and move higher and higher, shooting across the pool until they meet the stream coming from the other side. The movement varies from side to side and from two streams to eight in an orchestrated pattern. When the streams meet they form moving splashes of water that move up as the streams rise until there are eight of them at maximum height – approximately twelve feet in the air. Then a seperate burst of water shoots about 30 feet in the air and it all stops and then starts over again.
It is not unusual to see people stand and watch the entire sequence of movement several times before they move on. I know because I have stood and watched them watch! ☺ Amazingly there is very little water that splashes out of the pool!
