We have had above average rain fall this spring and the Yucca Plants are in bloom everywhere.

Because all Yucca Blooms face toward the ground you have to shoot up toward the sky to get a macro or close up of one.

The Yucca Blooms by the Lake.

These are so pretty! Do they smell nice too? Not sure I have ever seen the growing outdoors.

  • Well my nose does not work to well so I have not noticed any scent to them.

When I lived in Denver,I loved the yucca. Out here in Oregon I don’t see them that often, but they are huge. Great capture!!!!!

  • Thank you, they are really blooming out with the wet spring we have had.

…Great shot MT…out here in the desert they don’t have a smell…don’t know how these survive in your cold winters?

  • Thanks, I have never smelled any thing from them. They stay green all winter here even in the snow and freezing cold.

They are stunning in bloom, but I have never seen one this close. Lovely work!

  • Thank you Trish, you have to bend over and look up since all the blooms point downward.

Glorious!!! We don’t have these as natives to our shores, but we had a walled garden and an enormous Yucca which flowered, they are magnificent. hugsxxx

  • Thank my dear lady, we have over a dozen of them here on the place.

Wonderful – always wondered what these plants were.

  • Thank you, they are really a desert climate plant but thrive here even though we have very cold winters.
