This beautiful little female hummingbird is not slim and trim any longer. It looks like from her little pot belly that she has an egg nearly ready to lay. If you look at some of the other images of these little ladies you can easily see the difference. I know they are building their nests and working on their new families because there is not nearly the traffic at the feeder in the last few days.
Oh, she’s lovely!! I haven’t seen any Hummers here yet…been relatively cold for a while but should be any time. I would give anything to find a Hummer nest…but I understand they are so small they are quite hard to find. Beautiful capture, Byron…a darling “mother-to-be”!!
Yes she is , I have never found a nest here but I know they have to be around here some where.
