OMG - Is That A Skunk I Smell!!! by barnsis
Have you ever had to deal with a dog that got into it with a skunk? Well Tucker did today and he didn’t run away either, he chased it under a junk pile and I had to pull him out by his tail.
The skunk stink in the air was so bad you could smell if for a quarter of a mile!
I have heard that if you give them a bath in tomato juice it will neutralize the odor. Well we didn’t have any tomato juice so Julie put some canned tomatoes in the blender and instant tomato juice!
Well it worked, after I got all the tomato seeds washed out of his hair he no longer smells like a skunk, thank god, it was horrible!

I had heard of it but never had to try it before but it did work. He didn’t like the bath but he liked to lick the juice off of the edge of the tub { :>)

Ewww, nothing smells nastier than skunk!!! I don’t envy you stuck in the room washingt he doggie, but what a great story and shot!
You are so right, I don’t think he got a direct spray but it was bad enough.

Awww…poor Tucker…just doing the job he was “hired” to do!! Bet if he caught the skunk, he’d have expected you to be proud of him!!! And just so you know, there is now stuff you can buy at the pet store that do a much better job than the tomato route…and much less messy!! Good boy, Tucker! You protected your Dad from that nasty skunk!!
There was noting but his tail sticking out from the pile he had chased it under, I am just glad it didn’t spray him there or he would have been exiled to the cold.

Some Dog. I never had a pet hit with skunk stink, but a skunk got hit by a car in front of my daughter’s house one summer…that was bad too.
This was that bad, a first for Tucker and I hope a last.

LOL now that is funny
when i first moved to the mntns, skunk smells made me gag, now…doesnt bother me at all, matter of fact, if i have a headache it gets rid of it

Lol..poor buggers! í cant imagine what skunk smells like, we dont have them here. But what an afternoon of adventure you had,.!
It is so bad if you drive by where one had been ran over on the highway in your car at 60 mph you will still smell it in you car for probably a mile down the road even if you do nothing but drive by
