69 Years Ago On 1/5/2012 by

I was born on January 5, 1943 – On my first birthday – 1/5/1944 – I received a new wooden wagon!! On Thursday 1/5/2012 I will be 69 years old so I wanted to share this image I had created combining the old and new for my celebration of this event in my life. A span of 68 years of my life! I apologize for tooting my own horn on my birthday but for some reason number 69 seems special to me?

I recently started a project to scan all of my Mom’s old black and white photos. I found this image of me on my first birthday with what I assume was my birthday present. I don’t remember ever seeing this image before? I thought it was the perfect image to be joined with a new image of me for this occasion.

Note; I have scanned the original image, cleaned it up and enhanced the contrast and lighting with Photoshop then digitally enlarged the image. I also used Photoshop to join the two images. Your critical opinion is appreciated.

Oh – fabulous!! Thank you so much for the explanation of how you did this – it helps so much to see the time and skills that you have used. I love the interpolation of you as a young boy and you now, as a wise man.
    xx

  • Thank you very much Anna, I am not so sure about the wise part, maybe old would be a better word. { :>)

Such an impressive image, Byron….love the young you incorporated with the now version (although the now version seems to be missing the beanie hat!). This image certainly tells a story…although, unfortunately, not the whole story. But what it does say is that a beautiful innocent little boy grew up to be a lovely and wonderful adult. I like this a lot!

  • Thank you so much Barb, you are too kind.
