My first Photoshop - Before and After by

This one is dedicated to Friends here on Redbubble who have given me so much help and encouragement me to learn Photoshop.

The effects I have achieved here are not great but I have learned a lot by working on projects like this.

For those of you why have not yet tried the tools that are available to photographers in Adobe Photoshop and Gimp I suggest you give one of them a try. Photoshop is fairly expensive but you can buy the older versions for $200 or less.
*Gimp is a free program that is based on the same functions as Photoshop. It is done by a College professor and his students. They continue to update the program and functions so it will stay up to date. Gimp operates the same way as Photoshop and will do many of the same photo editing techniques as Photoshop. The tools are in different locations on the page and have different names because of copyright law but it is an outstanding, totally free program, not a download trial.

Wow! That is amazing…the power lines and weeds along the lake just disappeared! And look at the sky!! Well done!

  • Thanks, it is actually so easy when you finally learn the tricks. This only took me about 15 min.

woohoo brilliant work, I am still to scared to open my new CS3, maybe now I can see it does have benefits, I might just do it….I love how you put both shots here, again, brilliant work

  • I did this with CS and from what I understand the newer versions are basically the same just with more features.

Whoa!! Looks like an entirely different photo! Very cool, but a bit disturbing, in a strange way. Good work, Byron. :)

  • I had the same thought as a host here, I did this one quickly and it is not perfect but with these tools how would you tell the real from the unreal. I am going to work on a ghost image for your group soon, do you accept photoshoped images.
