This unique beautiful house is a Bed and Breakfast in Ironton Missouri. Ironton is on HWY 21 about two hours south of St. Louis. It is one of the most popular B&B in the state. The Parlor was built in 1908 by Charles J. Tual, an architect, as a present for his wife. In 1960, the Parlor was purchased by the Howell family and operated as a funeral parlor for a brief period of time. The funeral of the current owners’ great-grandfather, W.L. Cofer, was held at the Parlor
Part of the fame for this B&B arises from the fact that it seems to be haunted. Some of the reported paranormal occurrences include ~ the front and back doorbells will ring, at all different hours, and no one will be at the door ~ The clocks go off and on; radios turn themselves on; and motion-activated holiday decorations are activated when no one is in the vicinity ~ Guests have reported an apparition at the foot of their bed; money has disappeared and then reappeared; and some have had the feeling of being watched or touched. The face of a little boy was also spotted through one of the dining room windows – from someone outside looking in!!
*Regardless it is still one of the most popluar B&B in the state of Missouri.
