Standing at the corner of Cross and Broad Streets at Fort Frederica, St. Simons Island, Georgia. All grass streets from a British military establishment and new colonial community of the 18th century. Today there are only tabby ruins and foundations of some homes. The destruction of the community came after a swift fire, engulfing all structures and leaving little behind to salvage.
