Hindu Pilgrims on New Year's Day by

A crowd of Indian Hindu pilgrims are squished into long lines, waiting with great anticipation to enter the revered Sri Meenakshi Temple in Madurai on New Year’s Day. Believers travelled from all over India to be able to do their New Year’s prayers in this Hindu temple. I was just about pinching myself with good fortune over how excited and encouraging they were to have me capture them in that breathtaking New Year’s morning light in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India. ©2012 Valerie Rosen; All rights reserved.

Fascinating capture Val. Seems like the ones who are the most brightly lit are the ones with the biggest eyes paying the most attention to you :)

  • You’re so right, Mui-Ling! Human nature, I guess…got the description all sorted…appreciate the heads up. :-)
