Captured this lovely little lady in the morning light on an overnight train from Hyderabad to Bhubaneswar, India. There was something special about her in the way she carried herself…I was later told she’d overcome a bout of near fatal illness…

Nice one Val :) I like how you used the lace and bead garment in the foreground, helps to place her in her world. I believe they call that ‘environmental portrait’ work?
Thanks, Jim! That’s her Mum’s sari. Definitely an environmental portrait. Will have to get it into that group ! :-)
Val it is a wonderful photo it could mean so many things for so many people; peace is what comes to mind. The treatment in black and white made the picture

This is a beautiful photograph Val!
Thanks, Jordan! She was such a quiet child with staring eyes, which made her all the more intriguing. :-))

Fantastic Val. Very emotional portrait.
This is such a touching and evocative piece, Valeria….it speaks to the heart…which is what art is all about. Excellent piece.
So beautiful, Val—what a lovely girl.
