This was actually shot candidly. She was focused on her neighbors a little ways down the alley. Was drawn to how perfectly her sari blended with the wall, which apparently describes recommendations for growing crops. Hampi, Karnataka, India.
This elderly woman who works in the lane behind my guesthouse in Hampi, doesn’t speak much. Apparently, her only son was mentally delayed and killed a number of years ago by cow stampede. Her husband later died of a heart attack. So many stories like that here…
