My friend’s daughter at her brother’s Omiyamaeri, (おみやまえり) a Shinto version of a baptism (31st day for boys, 32nd day for girls) to pray for the baby’s health and happiness. Misuzu-chan holds a carp kite (こいのぼり) to celebrate boys on Children’s Day. Generally, only the parents of the new parents attend the ceremony, so it was a very fortunate invite for me. This was taken in Osaka, Japan.
