I grip my camera’s lens
‘round aperture set firm
And ponder the infinity
Of the world around me
The dusty gleam of a North Coast sunset
Devouring the daylight
In a euphoric mesh
Of ocean and cloud
Crests of ocean tides
Promenade around rocky beaches
Waves so symbolic to life
And it’s revolving seasons
Enchanting glow of ambient fog
In a breathing rain forest of green and gold
Luscious blanket of life on the forest floor
Lay like a bed for giant redwood and alder
Mushrooms and songbirds
Eagles fly like dancing freedom
Black bears stride the mountains wide
Elk prance strong along valleys deep
Poppies and sunflowers
Sway in fierce coastal winds
Along prairies of lanky, overgrown grasses
The bed of childhood daydreams and stargazing
Waters run raging over rocks of the Smith River
Undammed and untamed, wild and free
Babies laugh and play lightheartedly
On the sunny shores of the sandy banks
Living postcards feed my eye’s artistic hunger
Fills the need to capture breathing beauty
An art which painted by light and thoughtful sentiment
Through the familiar comfort of my camera’s sleek lens
Living art
Artful life
