Miss or Ms Scarlet Robin, posing on a fencepost – she stayed to collect some bark for her nest and showed no fear of us. Taken at Humbug Scrub, South Australia, August 2011. Canon 40D, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS with 2x extender.

The robin red breast holds fond memories of my childhood, growing up in the high country regions of Victoria. We only ever saw a robin during snowfall, and we had plenty of it on the farm. Your photo is beautiful, Barb.
thanks Peter, I was so pleased to see this little one, and she stayed still long enough for a shoot. So you don’t think I need a new camera, LOL??
