This female Superb Fairy wren (Malurus cyaneus) was bringing home lunch to her babies hidden in a nest. Not sure what the insect is, but I’m sure it’s delicious for baby birds! Taken at Laratinga Wetlands, Mt Barker, South Australia. Canon 40D, Canon 70-200 2.8 IS with 2x extender and external flash. Feb 2011.

I live in the beautiful Adelaide Hills of South Australia which are a constant inspiration to me in my photography. As an observer of nature and the world around around me, I find many subjects here which I try to portray in an artistic and interesting way. Please contact me if there are any of my images you wish to purchase or otherwise use.
