Tigerlily was in an enclosure with her sister – Alexis. They arrived grossly underweight from a defunct breeding facility. The sisters got along wonderfully and were kept next door to their brother Zeus.
Tigerlily passed away in 2006 after a stroke and her sister mourned for months. She actually looked like she had tears in her eyes.. but most people won’t believe something like that. Lexy finally got back to being herself after about 9 months.
I truly hope that another message comes through.. that these animals DO NOT MAKE GOOD PETS.. that’s why places like Noah’s are in existence. If people would just think before they buy that cute LITTLE cub.. life would be easier on all of us especially the animals. After all.. they didn’t ask to be in the situation they are.. and there are far to many unscrupulous people out there that are in it for the money..
At least with education, we might make a little difference.. even if we save just one animal.. it’s a beginning!!
All proceeds from any sales will be donated to Noah’s Lost Ark Sanctuary for the care and feeding of the animals.

Tigerlily’s beautiful. You’re aces with expressions, wonderfully done. And I recognize the look. The neighborhood doggies make the rounds and I’m included in because I’ve always got a treat for them. Now little Jake next door is nuts for cream cheese, but Barney from down the road is a meat and chicken kind of guy. I don’t know what possessed me, but one morning Barney showed, I gave him a great glob of cream cheese thinking he’d be thrilled, and, yup, Tigerlily’s face says it all. That’s exactly what he did.
Wonderful, expressive and extremely detailed. I really enjoy your narratives too, as sad as they often are.
I love this piece, but then it is very hard to chose a fav amongst your works.
great picture
You are soooo good…I love it!
Gorgeous work and such a sad story behind this wonderful creature
Looks like the face my boys used to pull if they didn’t like the taste of something LOL!!!!! Wonderful portrait Barb.
lol,what a brilliant expression
Nice work with the pen, always like a good drawing.
I have grown up around animals all my life and I do in fact know that animals have very strong fealings for one another. I had 2 dogs and one dog knew how to get out of the fence and the other couldn’t do it and he would wine the whole time the other dog was gone. It was very sad to see. I have had Cockateel do the same. Thay do have very strong feeling for people and other companions.
I love your art work.
