My husband planted about 20 tomatoe plants and when they started coming in – THEY STARTED COMING IN!! He was canning green tomatoes, spagetti sauce, ketchup, pickled tomatoes – it’s so great being married to a country boy that knows how to do all this stuff. The larder overflowed!!

Nice assortment of tomatoes too, how fortunate are you to have such a kitchen handyman!!!

  • You have no idea!! He promised me, when we married, that I would NEVER have to be in the kitchen again.. and I’m making sure he keeps his word! I hate to cook!!

a yummy (but difficult) time of the year; from the looks of this, the pay off will be nice :P

  • He thought he was planting just what we needed.. well, once the plants got into the fertilizer all bets were off.. he was giving tomatoes away because there were just too many.
I should have posted these last year when they were “harvested” but, life got in the way.

Barb my experience has been that most men who love to cook are usually very good at it. Mine will make a box of brownies now and then, but that’s about it……lol! I don’t mind cooking but I much prefer having someone else do it for me, on rare occasions does that happen;0) I think we should stick to whatever we do best and it looks like you’ve found it in art!!!

  • Oh thank you.. having a good cook in the house does have it’s drawbacks.. I can’t see my feet anymore!!! Well, I can.. but only part of them. It’s hard to say “NO” to things that taste so good. I’m not complaining.. really, I don’t miss that kitchen at all and it’s been 23 years!!!
