Scratchboard – what I use is made by Ampersand. It’s a fine white clay on masonite board with a coating of black ink. What you do is scratch out the white.. hope that explains it a bit.

Sounds like my old school days. We scribbled wax crayons in multicolours, then black over the top and scratched it off – I had forgotten that memory – thanks for bringing it back!
