Artist's Description

The Cactus Wren are residents of Mexico and the United States. It has been the official bird of Arizona since 1931. Nests are built high in thorny trees and shrubs. They primarily eat insect, but sometimes also eat seeds and fruit. They form permanent pair bonds and the pair defends their territory from other birds.

This bird was sitting on my backyard table. He stayed long enough for me to grab my camera and get a few shots!
