The male Cardinal is easy to spot as he is a beautiful red bird. Cardinals are found almost everywhere in the Northern Hemisphere. They are non-migratory and dine on insects and seeds. Their nests consist of small twigs and grasses and usually have 3-4 eggs at a time. Both parents tend the brood. Although the female Cardinal is also lovely looking, she does not have the glorious red color of the male!
While I was sitting and having lunch with some redbubblers this cardinal came and sat on a nearby tree. Good thing we all had our cameras handy!
