Artist's Description

This image was taken at Organ Pipe National Monument which is about 135 miles west of Tucson, AZ. It was taken in December, 09. The Sonoran Desert’s winters are very mild with the daytime temps averaging in the 60’s and the evening and morning temps averaging in the 40’s. Franklin D. Roosevelt created Organ Pipe National Monument on 4/13/37. It was created to preserve a representative area of the Sonoran desert.
