I am a self taught painter that prefers to paint with oils although have tried other mediums, I have found finally a word that discribes my kind of painting. I paint in the oil IMPASTO style, where paint is laid thickly on canvas, leaving visible brush (or palette knife) strokes. When dry, impasto provides a great deal of texture. I’m so glad I finally know what to call it.. In my art I try to tell a story, each painting always has a story behind it, every one is unique with its very own story.
