I already went and brought around 10 or so ‘blank’ canvases. I did try covering them by drawing/painting from reality; however, I just found that didn’t quite work successfully at all?!
Therefore, for each and every single day, I think of stepping into the worl of abstraction, instead; and, whenever I see your HUGE amount of work it certainly ‘inspires’ me on hell of a lot to go and give abstraction at try; after all, what’s the very worst that could happen; I could FAIL; and, so what…?!
glad, thanks Paul … believe “everyone” is creative so forget failure…. also forget all you know & you will surprise or discover yourself, I do almost every time…. I never have the slightest idea what I will do next…
your landscapes always inspire and cause great wonder (in me) i personally love the ability of ink to show all with little, pure black ink offers nowhere to hide, no colours to disguise or hide behind, no rubbing out or subduing….it is how it is or screw it up……your landscapes evoke a whole vista of detail and sensation that uses the negative space as much and with equal importance as the black volume offered…..here in this particualr work i enjoy the ability to see the surface of the rice paper in the climmer of your light.
painting on “washi” creates such a sense of inspiration in me its hard to put it into words but when you just touch this “paper” or the better types of nihon papers you know in an instant that you are about to put your humble marks on something most sacred….“nature” thanks Loui
