Very nice piece !!! Our Japanese Gardens here in Fort Worth, Texas have two events a year and have very nice performers and artisans showing original Japanese culture.

Excellent capture and artwork of their true customs

I have shown various versions of this image and each time I wrote a description. I did not do so this time. Sorry, but this photo was taken in China by Japanese photographer Yohei Aoki, she’s chinese and my concept has nothing to do with Japan. Thanks for you interest in our work

a beautiful collaboration. the photo is wonderful in composition and dramatic in lighting and you have created such a beautiful image here. the colors and texture give it a look of being a relief sculpture. there is a feeling of grandeur along with simple elegance.

  • I’m humbled, Yohei will be very pleased. thank you.

Hello banrai… my mother taught me that this instrument was not Japanese. Is it a biwa? An international student was murdered near here last week, & the Asian teacher I know is traveling with friends…your ‘bleeding leaves’ veil me in a new kind of knowledge. Cheers, Tasmania is at the end of the Earth. :)

your mother was correct it’s a Chinese instrument the biwa was based on. this
shot was taken in China….. not Japan.
