    Great action shot. Well composed.

That is a very well captured image.

To be very critical and this is the only thing I can say is use content aware fill to remove the two small things popping into the image at the bottom… That’s just being critical though but the actual image is great. :-)

  • thanks. this picture is a crop, but I don’t remember why i left those two things in the picture. clearly not by design. I need to find exactly how to remove them. There is another picture where I’d love to remove something.

Baneling, I’ll make a couple of “how-to” videos as “extras” for our series. I’ll cover removing unwanted things in images using Gimp and a few other packages like Lightroom and Photoshop.

If I have time, I’ll make them tonight and send you the links :-)

What software are you using to edit your images?

  • I would really appreciate that, thanks. I use photoshop cs6. for HDR is use Photomatix 4

Hi Baneling, I’ve created the Photoshop series of “extras” now. I was going to do it later this month but I guess now is a good a time as any ;-)

I’ll be adding more tutorials on that page so it will keep everything nice and neat. If there’s any other things you would like a tutorial on, just let me know by email, G+ or BubbleMail :-)

    All the best,

  • thanks alot. i’ll take a look at it later.

  • I took a quick peek just now and it said “an error occured. please try again later”.

    – John Velocci

  • I finally uploaded the corrected version, without the two objects on the bottom right corner.

YouTube must have been having a bad hair day… Works now… Odd.

  • Thanks. I didn’t know it was that easy. I can’t wait to try it. Did you work on the raw file or jpg? Let me know when you post the tutorial on using content aware to add something. I wouldn’t mind doing that on one or more of my photos. Thanks again.

    Hi again Baneling :-)

I always shoot “raw”… It gives you more options when editing and produces less distortion than starting from jpegs… I know some might disagree but each to their own ;-) Same with HDR, I don’t use the built-in HDR shooting mode but shoot individual raw bracketed exposures instead.

Next video is live: https://www.1billionhex.com/?p=229 showing how to add content using the fill…

    Hope you enjoy it :-)

  • I always shoot RAW+jpg. i’ll check out the video.
