While sitting here daydreaming
You come to mind
I begin to remember how you were
when we loved each other.
I remember the first time I saw you
from two blocks away.
Standing there reading your magazine. . .
The closer I got to you, my heart pounded,
Faster and faster still.
I was anxious to meet you, even though I had
never met you before
I had an image of you.
Tall and slender, a smile that charms anyone
you come in contact with
A liquidy voice, that makes one hang on to
every word you speak
Your skin, soft and smooth, and hot.
Eyes! Oh, those eyes! Sad, but warm,
brownish grey with some green; shades I’ve
never seen before.
A chameleon’s eyes?
It’s been so long since I last saw you.
Yet, the memory of you is vividly in my mind
To forget you will be, I guess, almost impossible;
I will have to find some way of getting you back.
‘Cause here with me is where you belong. . .
